The Hidden Pencil — A 1970s Prank!

We used to play all sorts of naughty pranks in our schooldays. When a boy stood up to answer the teacher, we would sometimes sneakily place a pointed pencil on his chair and wait for him to return, trying hard to suppress our laughter!
Looking back, we realise how risky and potentially harmful this prank could have been. Thankfully, as far as we remember, nobody was injured. We were young, mischievous and not always wise enough to think about the consequences.
Those were the schooldays of the 1970s — full of cheeky antics, shared laughter and memories that stayed with us for decades!

Pittho - Gendtaadi — 7 Slates, Endless Fun!

Pittho or Gendtaadi was one of our favourite playground games in the 1970s. All we needed was a ball and seven pieces of broken slate stacked on top of one another.
One boy threw the ball to knock down the stack, and the excitement began! While the opposing team tried to hit players with the ball, everyone ran and dodged, as one team raced to rebuild the seven-slate stack.
If they succeeded, they proudly shouted “Pittho!” to announce victory. But if the ball hit them first, the opposition gained the upper hand!
Those dusty playgrounds, scattered slates and breathless sprints gave us endless fun. Long before screens took over our leisure time, games like Pittho kept us active, competitive and laughing together. What wonderful memories of our schooldays!
